What We Do
Why We Exist
The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce exists to champion economic equity and amplify the voices of Black and small business owners in Savannah and surrounding areas. We recognize that historic and systemic barriers continue to impact access to capital, opportunity, and visibility for many in our community. That’s why we’re here — to bridge those gaps, create intentional support systems, and build a thriving business ecosystem where equity isn’t the exception, but the standard.
There is a critical need for a Black chamber because representation matters. Black entrepreneurs are launching businesses at some of the highest rates in the country, yet still face disproportionate challenges in funding, mentorship, and policy support. GSBCC provides the advocacy, programming, and community infrastructure necessary to help these businesses grow, scale, and lead.
We’re not just about networking…we’re about impact, legacy, and generational wealth.
How We Do It

Business Education & Development
- We oer monthly workshops, panels, and educational events designed to give entrepreneurs real-world tools they can immediately apply. From financial literacy to digital marketing to legal essentials, our training helps businesses grow with confidence.
Visibility & Promotion
- Through curated events, media features, vendor opportunities, and our member directory, we work to ensure that Black and small businesses are seen, heard, and supported. We shine a light on our members — and help others find and support them too.

Networking & Community Building
- Our monthly mixers, ambassador programs, and collaborative events create space for connection. We believe strong businesses are built on strong relationships, so we foster environments where entrepreneurs can meet potential partners, clients, and mentors.
Economic Advocacy
- We represent the interests of Black and small businesses at the local, state, and national level. Through initiatives like the Policy Plate Breakfast and participation in Chatham Day, we advocate for policies that promote equity, access, and inclusion in economic development.

Events That Empower
- From the Black Business Expo to our annual Black Excellence Gala, our events are more than celebrations — they are platforms for commerce, visibility, and community unity.
- We design gatherings that support business growth and honor cultural pride.
Strategic Partnerships
- We work with government agencies, nonprofits, funders, and private sector partners to connect our members with grants, resources, and new opportunities. These partnerships amplify our impact and bring tangible benefits to our business community.

Member Support & Milestones
- We show up for our members — celebrating grand openings, supporting new launches, and helping entrepreneurs navigate challenges. From ribbon cuttings to revitalization grants, we’re a consistent resource from day one.
Building Generational Wealth
- At our core, we believe entrepreneurship is a pathway to legacy. Our programs and mission focus on creating long-term impact that empowers families and transforms communities for generations to come.

GSBCC is more than a chamber. We’re a movement.
We are powered by purpose, driven by data, and committed to building a future where Black and small businesses aren’t just surviving — they’re thriving.
