The Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce is calling on its members to help identify the policy priorities that will guide the Chamber’s advocacy efforts in 2027.
Each year, the GSBCC Government Affairs & Advocacy Committee develops a Legislative Agenda focused on issues affecting Black-owned businesses, entrepreneurs, and the greater Savannah community. The process gives Chamber members an opportunity to share their experiences, identify challenges, and help determine which policy initiatives should receive the organization’s attention in the coming year.
Once developed, the Legislative Agenda serves as an important component of the Chamber’s advocacy efforts, helping guide conversations with elected officials, community leaders, stakeholders, and other partners working to create an environment where Black businesses can thrive.
Chamber Members Asked to Share Their Priorities
As the planning process begins, the GSBCC is asking members to complete a short survey identifying the issues and concerns they believe should be included in the 2027 Legislative Agenda.
The survey takes approximately three to five minutes to complete, and responses will help the Government Affairs & Advocacy Committee understand which issues are having the greatest impact on Chamber members and the local business community.

Members Invited to Join Two Virtual Discussions
In addition to the survey, the Government Affairs & Advocacy Committee will host two virtual meetings in September to provide members with another opportunity to contribute to the process.
The first meeting will be held Monday, September 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM EST.

Each meeting will last no longer than one hour and is open exclusively to GSBCC members. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email with information for joining the virtual meeting.
The Chamber encourages members from across industries and business stages to participate and bring their experiences, concerns, and ideas into the discussion.
As the GSBCC often reminds its community, “Black business is everybody’s business.” Developing the 2027 Legislative Agenda is an opportunity for Chamber members to ensure their voices are represented as the organization prepares for another year of advocacy and engagement.
